Domenico Mannelli is a Danish-based Italian composer, arranger, songwriter and performer. Graduated in Philosophy 2006, he studied composition at the Music School of Fiesole with Khamran Khache from 2000 to 2004. Domenico studied orchestration with the composer Fabrizio Pigliucci and music production with Tony Carnevale. In 2012 he attended the course for songwriters at the Centro Europeo Toscolano with Massimo Bombino and Giuseppe Barbera. In 2021 he completed the Masters in Rhythmic Composition at Det Jyske Musikkonsevatorium in Aarhus.
Domenico has worked many years as a musician in theater. In Italy with the company Circomare and then with the company Altamira Laboratory, writing the music for the performances "Don Giovanni", "The garden" and "Last night". In 2014, he moved to Denmark to work with Altamira Studio Teater, an international theater company based in Holstebro in residence from 2014 to 2017 at Odin Teatret. For them he wrote and performed the music for several performances: "The River - Dream of a poet", "By Heart - Theater concert for another time", "Playroom - Acts without words".
During his career he has composed and produced two EPs of electronic/acoustic music: "Medicine Sound '' (2012) and "Birds in the Snow '' (2018), both released by the Italian label “LaBel”.
In the last two years Domenico has written music for big band, small ensembles intersecting music genres. His recent works involve different languages and art forms such as theater, video art, poetry and architecture investing around the themes of cultural identity and transculturality.
